Le Roaring Twenties (FINALLY!) and a Teapot

I LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEDDDDDD!!! I honestly and completely FORGOT about blogging on Sunday! :( :( :( I'M SO FORGETFUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLL!

Anyway, hi. Here is a little review:

The 1920s was a time for colour, change and post-war celebrations. The Roaring Twenties also marked a BOOM for arts, fashion and media. Read on to learn more about a world where dance fever and celebration filled the air!

You, as a teenager (or preteen) living in this day and age, would have lead a very different life in the 20s. Your life, I take it, revolves around making it at school. Guess what? Most teens in the 1920s didn’t attend high school! They dropped out to get a good earning job! The older teens (about 16 -19) grew reckless in attempts to gain freedom and fun. Older girls of this age are referred to as flappers. They were rebellious, risk taking and shocking girls. Hair was cut short and hemlines rose throughout the era. It was a fashionable lifestyle for young, awkward women. They drank; they smoked and tried to provoke their elders in any way possible. All teenagers of the 20s, male or female, younger or older, had a love of dance and music! The time you spent away from work would be spent enjoying the latest music with your friends!

It wasn’t just teenagers enjoying the arts at that time. Everyone was! Jazz music and, the iconic 20s dance, The Charleston, quickly became world-wide crazes. Dance marathons would be held weekly and attracted large crowds of all ages. The celebratory mood of the twenties was obvious in its music and dance.

Fashion in the twenties made a statement. Women’s clothing explored freedom by aiming for a boyish and revealing appearance. It was also an explosion of colour and accessories as women would sport bright, patterned fabrics and an abundance of hats, tights, bags and beaded necklaces. Men’s wear was looked to be a simpler version of formal attire from times prior. Although, men too experimented with shortening things by wearing knickerbockers. Other men’s fashion trends in the 20s include “Oxford Bag” (very wide, baggy pants) and hats.

This (being a review) has to have some kind of end evaluation. Looking at what I’ve learnt, the twenties seemed like quite a lot of fun. However, for us teens, there wasn’t much of a chance to just be young and carefree. We had to earn our keep as well as fussing about others’ opinions of us. To live back in the nineteen twenties would have its fun times and its hard times, just like life today. If I were given the chance to experience what the twenties was like, I think I would take it up but only for a short while. After enough time to find out what it was really like and how it was different (for myself), I can definitely say that I would want to come back to today’s advanced world.

What do you think? If you were given a chance to live in the twenties, would you? It's all very INTERESTING, isn't it?

I, being a useless (and unreliable) blogger, (gee thanks, self [types Didzsa sarcastically]!) just googled 'what to blog about' and came across a website with some suggestions (here: http://onlinejournalismblog.com/2009/02/04/starting-a-blog-12-ideas-for-blog-posts/) I'll just type up my response to the ideas although I were chatting with you (awww, how intimate).

HAHAHAHA! The first one is 'respond to something elsewhere on the web'!!! Done. :D 'Interview someone'? Oooooo! What an interesting proposition! Shall do that in future. Who would I interview? Sox? LaLaLally? A random stranger (*cough cough* STRANGER DANGER!!! lol jk)? Leave a comment in response! Who do YOU want to hear from? (It also says to ask for responses in posts :P)
"5. Ask a question: this typically only works once you’ve established a readership and generated goodwill by contributing yourself on your blog and in comments on other blogs, or if it’s for a worthy cause."  Can't do that one then! HAHA! "Pick a fight" Love it! I'm love arguments :) "Use something visual" Ummm... here's a teapot

(Will now follow the steps exactly) This is a teapot in my hand. It is green. It is small. It is antique. Do you like teapots? Have you seen a teapot before? Here's a link to another picture of this teapot http://web.stagram.com/p/498162263_16870702 (Seriously though, I love this teapot!!!)

"Review something" YEAH! I'M NOT PATHETIC (jk, I am). "Make a list" I DO CRAP LOADS OF THAT TOO! WHOOOOOOOP! "Write a how to" gooooooooooood idea! Finally, "Let someone else post." Ahaha! Pfft, I give up, post for me! :P Lolololololololol! This having fun with this responding thing. Let's look at some more at the results.

I found a WikiHow called "How to Write a Famous Blog." Yay! Let's get famous! That's right, I'm taking you with me on my road to fame!!! "...who you are on the inside is reflected in your blog." Organs and chemicals? Yep. I'm really that cheesy! (Didzsa: just as cheesy and unfunny in real life :D) "Decide how often you are going to post" *coughs awkwardly* "Tell your friends about your blog and ask them to tell their friends" great going so far real life friends... (no offence but... guys... seriously... [SO MANY ELLIPSES I'M GONNA SCREAM AND DIE {that's really the plural of ellipsis (I googled it just then)}]) Everything else on this page is kinda boring. If you wanna read it:  http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Famous-Blog

Well that was moderately pleasant. I've got some homework to  do (I'M BACK AT SCHOOOOOOOOL) so I'd better go! Love yous!

Remember, remember, remember: review my review, would you go back to the twenties, teapots, who do you want an interview from, ellipses is the plural of ellipsis (AND ellipse! Double meaning plural? COOL!) and TAYG WILL BE BACK SOOOOOOOON! Bye bye baby minions!

SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOUUUUUUUU (metaphorically) LATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!

  1. I don't exactly know why a few lines of this post are hi-lighted and WEIRD but I can tell you that when I first put up the post that those lines where hi-lighted in white and you couldn't see the words so I changed it to be as close to my background colour as possible.
